BigMac is FIV+. His only hope for adoption is someone who has no cats or has anFIV+ cat. This DRAMATICALLY limits his chances. We can get him in to RusticHollow Shelter, a 190 acre no-kill, cage-free, special needs life caresanctuary in Iowa IF we can raise the required $300.00 donation. Please Chipin, any little bit will help. He deserves a better life! All donations go to St. Francis CARE a 501c3 non-profit organization so all donations are tax deductible.
ANYONE who donates $20 ore more to this cause gets to pick their own WoD next Friday (or a different day if needed). Let’s get this cat a new home by the end of the weekend!

A couple more things:
- Please recycle your water bottles in the recycling bin RIGHT next to the trash can.
- Please do not leave water bottles laying around after your class.
- Please, if you’re using 10 lb plates, be aware that they easily break, and try not to drop your bar unless absolutely necessary. If there is any way you can use 15 lb plates (for instance, by switching to a lighter bar), please do so.
- Please make sure you post to the comments section about your WoD – good or bad, it helps to keep a record (you can look back and see how you did on a previous workout), and it helps to see how others did and feel about a WoD as well.
- Please listen hard when your instructor is explaining the workout and the movements before class. If you pay very close attention, you just may remember what a “Hang Power Clean” is next time they are programmed, and how they are broken down. Your Coach can only help you do better if you are trying your absolute best every time, including in your role as a student.
- And finally, please HAVE FUN, and encourage and help the people around you….especially the new folks who are completely confused and overwhelmed (as you once were), and would greatly appreciate any words of advice or support you may have. There is typically only one trainer to 15-20 members at a time. They can use all the help they can get!

January 27th, 2012 on 7:47 am
4 complete rounds and was able to complete 400 meter run, 30 situps and 25ft of walking lunges. Tried to keep up with Mia, but dang girl you where in the zone, nice Work!! Rowed 509 before and 1511 after class.
January 27th, 2012 on 8:02 am
Two rounds – and a 400 meter run and 30 sit ups. Scaled lunges by using tallest box jump box for balance and form. The ole knees have been feeling pretty good lately, getting stronger I think. Going to try to come back this evening to knock out some rowing.
January 27th, 2012 on 8:40 am
Nate, thats not nice! Jess–thanks! Admittedly, my goal was to “win” this wod. . .I appreciate Run Fridays (as I’m going to call them, since we tend to have runs on Fridays). I maybe could have gone a tad bit faster and gotten a 6th run in. . .but I feel really good with 5 complete rounds rx’d! (Even though until about 5 minutes before we started I was pretty sure there was no weight on the lunges!)
January 27th, 2012 on 8:53 am

January 27th, 2012 on 10:23 am
I’ll bet the people who asked us to post this today are going to feel really great when they read your post, Nate. Maybe you should go put your helmet back on…..
January 27th, 2012 on 10:27 am
Actually, I’m just going to delete it right now, so that everyone won’t see what a jackass you are. Expect a not so flattering picture of yourself to posted for an upcoming WoD….
January 27th, 2012 on 11:30 am
Oh geeze Nate, now it makes perfect sense…..you were really asking everyone to pay you twenty dollars so that you could personally send this cat to heaven yourself because you think it’s inhumane to let a cat that has a fatal virus (mind you, it’s not suffering, just like people live with HIV) live out the rest of its days peacefully with like felines. How thoughtful of you, you have been so misunderstood…….I’ll be the first to pay you so that You can gallantly take care of this yourself. Thanks!

January 27th, 2012 on 1:18 pm
there is some good entertainment on here today
January 27th, 2012 on 1:19 pm
I just love all of you! I’m a crazy cat lady (have 5 cats currently + 1 dog). We don’t watch TV at our house, as with 6 animals in an 800 sq’ house, that’s all the entertainment we need. Cats that are FIV+ can live many, normal years in great health. Cats with diabetes have greater health problems. As with any other disease, a caretaker of the animal will know when it’s time to send that animal on (to the “other” side, to “heaven”, to reincarnation, etc.). Luckily, with animals, we have a choice to end their suffering… with humans, we don’t really have that choice (but that’s a whole other subject).
Nate – rest assured, this cat will live a great life… and, now, you should donate to help save him!

3 Rounds Rx’d today plus a 400 meter run coming in at 20:36. Great job nooners! Angela-you rocked it today. You really are getting faster.
Nate-I, like everyone else, took your posts as hurtful. If you really didn’t mean it that way then you should donate to save this little guy.
I am so glad there are places like the one in Iowa. Those people are saints!
January 27th, 2012 on 2:11 pm

Two rounds, and I did a third run, which couldn’t be counted as I came in overtime. Good workout, though it’s catching up with me now in the form of deep exhaustion.

5 rounds rx’d. Loved this WoD!!
January 30th, 2012 on 9:00 pm
3 rds 12 meters (row). Didn’t use weight on the walking lunges, but was able to get my knee real close to the ground every time. I subbed rowing for running…I think I get a much better workout because I take less breaks.
January 30th, 2012 on 9:02 pm
3 rds 400m 13 reps using 35 lb for walking lunges. First time doing over 25 lb for the lunges…touched every time and didn’t take as long as I expected.
